This project is a gelato map in the heart of Rome! I wanted to do something that could be useful for everyone, tourists and locals alike. I chose gelato because it is loved by Italians of all ages. Tourists also like to try different gelato shops while staying in Rome. Another reason I chose gelato was because I believe it is deeply ingrained in Italian culture. Gelato is a favorite treat for Italians. I used my Italian to communicate with the workers at the gelateria’s, and ask them a simple question. “What is your favorite gelato flavor?” Some of the answers were very similar, while others were surprising to me. I really enjoyed this project because we traveled to Rome and had time throughout our trip to gather GPS data, talk to locals, and of course try some delicious gelato flavors! I really enjoyed using the Italian language and talking with the workers at the gelateria’s. The workers were all very friendly and helpful. Most of them were interested in what I was doing.
